Death Valley: The Racetrack

From Ubehebe Crater we started driving in the direction of The Racetrack. This place, even though located a bit out of the way, it's an absolute must for anybody visiting Death Valley! It's stunningly beautiful and it has certain mystic quality to itself that I can not explain, you simply have to experience it. (When we were there Ania kept on repeating: "It's so flat here. It feels really strange. It's so flat here. That's weird. It's so flat here. I am not sure if I like it. It's so flat here...")

The name "racetrack" was given to it as rocks (both small and really big ones) move there across the dry lakebed (la playa), leaving behind long tracks for visitors to ponder.

If you go there, it is better to have either a 4WD or at least a high-clearance
vehicle as the dirt road leading there might be pretty rough at the time. However, we did it in a regular car, so if you have a bit of spirit of adventure, you can also try it.
