The very last place that we visited during our 3-day road trip was
MacKerricher SP. I wanted to go there as my favorite guidebook very highly recommended a hike around Lake Cleone located in that park. The hike indeed was very pleasant, as photos below can testify.

Halfway through the hike the trail becomes a boardwalk leading through a marsh. That makes this hike pretty unique compared to most others in California:
