Gubalowka

From Zakopane we took a funicular to get to the top of Gubalowka (1126 m). The mountain is a very popular tourist destination as it can be easily reached from Zakopane and offers great views to Tatra mountains, especially Giewont.

From Gubalowka we went for a nice hike along the mountain ridge to Butorowy Wierch (1160 m), from where we got down to Koscielisko by chairlift. What we did not take into account when we were planning this hike is that we will have to somehow get back from Koscielisko to Zakopane... We were hoping that there would be a bus or a taxi that we could use, but there was nothing. We ended up walking all the way back, which was not that nice as it was getting dark and cold. But we made it back and we were happy that we spent so many hours on fresh air.
