The eastern tip of Ao Nang Beach is inhabited by a group of about 30-40 monkeys. They're accustomed to humans and don't mind being photographed from up close--I was able to take all the photos you can see below with my regular 24-70 mm lens.
Watching monkeys interact with each other is a lot of fun, as they display many human-like behaviors and are capable of expressing their emotions very well.
