After finishing our hike to Alamere Falls, we did a short side trip to Palomarin Beach. It was a bit disappointing to us, as we were hoping for a nice sandy beach that would be hospitable to tired hikers. Instead we were welcomed by a beach filled with small black stones:

But at least we saw something interesting there: a seagull eating a starfish:

After the seagull left I went to see if the starfish was still alive, but I think it wasn't. I threw it back into the ocean anyway. Maybe it will somehow recover:
